Carson City Sheriff's Office Celebrates Successful 2024 Citizens Academy Graduation

Carson City, July 24, 2024 - The Carson City Sheriff's Office is proud to announce the successful completion of the 2024 Citizens Academy, culminating in a memorable graduation ceremony. Sheriff Ken Furlong presented graduation certificates to 25 dedicated attendees who completed the comprehensive program.

The Citizens Academy, an initiative launched by the Carson City Sheriff's Office, aims to foster a stronger bond between law enforcement and the community. Through this program, participants gain valuable insights into the daily operations of the Sheriff's Office, enhancing their understanding of law enforcement practices and fostering mutual trust.

Over the course of the program, the graduates received in-depth training on various aspects of law enforcement, including community policing, crime prevention, emergency response, and the judicial system. They had the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities, simulations, and interactive discussions led by experienced law enforcement professionals.

Sheriff Ken Furlong expressed his pride in the dedication and commitment shown by the graduates throughout the Citizens Academy. He stated, "We are delighted to see the enthusiasm and eagerness displayed by our citizens in participating and completing the Citizens Academy. This program is an essential step in building a stronger and safer community for all."

The graduation ceremony, held on June 12, was a joyous occasion, symbolizing the successful culmination of the participants' hard work and dedication. Sheriff Ken Furlong personally presented the graduation certificates to each attendee, recognizing their commitment to deepening their understanding of law enforcement and their role in the community.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office would like to extend its heartfelt congratulations to the 25 graduates of the 2024 Citizens Academy. Their dedication to community involvement and their willingness to learn will undoubtedly contribute to the continued safety and well-being of Carson City.
